With the success of the "Sexto Sentido" Tour, Xuxa Produções together with Globo Vídeo began selling the show's record at the end of 1995 as a test for a possible release. The sale was carried out only by telephone. After the satisfactory sales result, the commercialization of the VHS materialized in May 1996 and the home video started to be found in the main stores in Brazil, in addition to rental stores. VHS brings the show of the second phase (1995), but without the majority of Xuxa's interactions with the public, without the guests who sang between the blocks and the performances of You Can Dance. The VHS edition did not have a base show as in the subsequent releases of Xuxa, but rather a mix of several recordings from the tour, including some shows from 1994.

While her mother (Kelly Lynch), like astronaut Michael Collins, goes to the dark side of the moon for a leukemia treatment, Ella must journey on her own to the strange moon of her grandmother's world. Ella's father, (Sean Patrick Flanery) orbits his daughter, as Ella befriends Miguel and Rosie to find acceptance of her mother's fate. Emotional connections are reshaped, and the music of Patrick Neil Doyle helps tell this unusual story.

Ollie Kepler’s Expanding Purple World is a darkly comic tale of a young man’s battle with madness. Ollie Kepler, wacky astronomy enthusiast and web designer, moves in with his best friend after he loses his fiancé, but is repeatedly drawn back to the place of her death – their empty, unpainted apartment. There, a broken promise made to her returns to haunt him with growing intensity. Ollie’s guilt merges with his scientific brilliance into a crazed attempt to redeem himself. Quitting his job in a bizarre act of defiance, Ollie spirals into a chilling world of obsession and tormenting voices, threatening both his friendship and sanity. Convinced that a strange piece of rock he has found is a micro-chip which holds a vital message from his fiancé, Ollie sets about trying to unlock it with disastrous results. Somehow purple holds the key. Disturbing and eerily humorous, the film explores the fantasies the mind creates when reality overwhelms.
